Long Description

This award-winning cheese is made by a young - you guessed it - redhead! Based on a dairy farm in Minnesota, head cheesemaker and founder Alise Sjostrom is inspired by traditional cow milk cheese categories such as Brie and clothbound Cheddar, as well as a semi-soft washed tomme; however, Alise brings a truly American flair to the flavor profile and texture of her cheeses.

About the Producer

Redhead Creamery made their first batch of cheese in 2013, but by the end of 2014 they had already built and opened up their own cheese making facility right here on their family farm, Jer-Lindy Farms. But the ridiculously good cheese you taste today is the culmination of years of study, trips to artisan cheese plants, funding campaigns, testing, waiting, sampling and starting over.

Serving Suggestions

Herbes de Lucy Brie: baguette, fresh raspberries, tangerines, plums with dry riesling, sparkling white wine.

Wonderful drizzled with olive oil and baked in the oven, or make it sweet by drizzling it with honey and wrapping it in puff pastry, placing it in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.

Exceeded My Expectations!

When I come to the US for the holidays, I'm always looking for American artisanal cheeses which are new to me yet resemble what we have in France. During my recent visit, I was delighted to try Herbes de Lucy! I wasn't sure how I'd like the herbes de Provence mixed into the paste, but wow - it was divine!! The herbes just blended so nicely with the creamy brie-style cheese. My only regret? I wish I had tucked some into my suitcase!
